This is Abanx SellPoint Commerce Server Installer v.3.0 Release Notes.
We strongly recommend that you refer to the product installation instructions
and the product user manual prior to installing and operating SellPoint. Check
our corporate site for more information - http://www.abanx.com
Installation Procedure
======================
1. Install RedHat 7.2 on a clean system. This means SellPoint requires that
no modifications or additional changes have been made to the server after
it has been installed. Do not install MySQL or Apache or any of the other
network services that are listed in the RedHat 7.2 Installation.
2. Setup networking for the server. Give it an appropriate IP address, and
verify that networking has been appropriately setup and operating.
3. Select a Domain Name that will operate the SellPoint Commerce Server. Make
the appropriate modifications to the DNS that will control named requests
for this domain. Add the following subdomains:
domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
www.domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
demo.domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
secure.domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
cart.domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
images.domain.name ===> [SERVER IP ADDRESS]
4. Download SellPoint 3.0 from abanx.com and transfer it to the server either
via ftp or any other method you wish to obtain the file.
1. Log in as "root" and change your working directory to the directory where
the SellPoint install script resides; for example: #cd /home/admin/sellpoint
2. Run the install script, for example:
"sh sellpoint_v3.0.0_build020301_os_RedHat_7.2_i686.sh"
3. You will see several messages as the install script prepares for the installation.
4. Next the script will display a series of messages showing the progress of the
installation. At this time all of the components of SellPoint will be installed
and properly configured on the server. Depending on the speed of the server, there
may be times when the installation seems to be stuck. The entire install procedure
should take only a few minutes. Do not attempt to cancel the install script. The
installation logs all of the changes made to the system in the /tmp/ directory.
The install script will backup any system configuration files before making the
changes.
5. When the installation is complete, you will receive a message notifying you that
SellPoint is now running on your server. You will be able to use SellPoint on your
host at: https://secure.domain.name/clients.
The default username is "admin" and the default password is "setup". Both are case
sensitive. For security reasons this password should be changed upon initial login.
The default username for the demo account is "demo" and the default password
is "setup".
NOTE
During installation mysql user 'root' is renamed to user 'admin' with appropriate
password 'setup'. If the file /etc/sellpoint/.sellpoint.shadow already existed in
the system by the moment of installation then the password will not be 'setup' but
will be the same as the one indicated in that file.
8. Upon initial login to SellPoint you will be required to complete the final steps in
the installation process.
9. You will first be asked to accept the Abanx, Inc. End User License Agreement. Select
the appropriate checkbox at the end of the agreement and select Accept.
10. You are now required to obtain the following accounts in order to make the system
functional. Links to help you obtain them can be found in the Admin Links section
of the system when you login as `admin`.
1] Verisign PayflowPro Reseller Account.
2] A Test-Account created under your Reseller Account (not set live).
3] A InterShipper account used to establish Shipping Quotes.
Once you have obtained the information required, click on the Configuration link
and enter the information there. Relevant fields are:
Processor Partner ID : This is your Reseller ID provided by Verisign.
InterShipper Email : The Email account you signed up for InterShipper with.
InterShipper Password: The Password for your InterShipper Account.
Next, Create an account for the Demo client by clicking on the `Admin Link` section
and selecting 'Open a Payflow Pro Account for a Client:'.
Follow the creation process, and be sure to select all cards if you want to be able
to demonstrate all payment acceptance methods. Once this is done, be sure to not
select to take the account live.
Enter back into the SellPoint system by logging in as `admin`, select `view` on
the Demo client, and enter the Processor Login and Processor Password you
specified when creating it through Verisign. Update the account and the demo
client is now ready for test processing. Failure to provide a proper processor
login and password for the demo account with cause test transactions to fail.
11. It is important that when a New Client signs up, you immediately create them a test
Verisign PayFlow Pro account so that they can begin testing the system. All test
transactions will fail if they do not have a valid account to test with. Using
the demo account test login/password will produce erroneous results when switching
to the clients new test account. It is very important to create their own test
account from the very beginning. When its time to take them live, their account
will also be ready.
